Vulnerability for the Actor

Have you ever been told by a director or instructor to be more open, to be more vulnerable?

What does that mean? How can you do that?

Living and creating with vulnerability is a skill set that you can absolutely learn. In this workshop, you will cultivate practical skills that you can apply immediately to help you be more vulnerable – open, grounded, connected and generous – in your acting.

We’ll identify behaviors and limiting beliefs that may be preventing you from showing up fully in your auditions, rehearsals and performances.

This innovate approach to creating with vulnerability integrates the work of theater artists, thought leaders, researchers, poets and artists, such as Augusto Boal, Jerzy Grotowski, Brene Brown, Tara Mohr, Bryon Katie, David Whyte & others.

“This workshop came at a perfect time for me. I was working on being vulnerable in my acting work, but in more of a harsh, raw way. Applying this work helped me realize how important it is to be kind to yourself in order to allow yourself to go further in your work.”

“Liz inspires the desire to want to ‘Tear down this wall’ and she creates the safe nurturing space for you to actually do it – revealing your true self and allowing your soul’s creative wings to expand. Hopefully then you can fly or at least see the possibility of flight.”

“I knew that I wanted to explore more vulnerability, but I was shocked at the personal barriers that came to light in this workshop. Months later, I’m still learning from the work we began there, and as I continue training as an actor, I feel as though I’m still developing a new awareness on how to approach my own personal challenges.”
